Canoeing The Red Deer , The Clearwater, The Ram, The North Saskatchewan , The Athabasca and many other rivers (whose upper reaches are all a short drive from the lodge) are among the best paddling waters  in the world. Though there are stretches of challenging whitewater most of it offers nothing more than a diversion for the average canoeist. These are resplendent rivers of great beauty and historical significance- whose waterways opened Canada up to the fur trade and remain for the most part quite secluded and untouched.
