Two hours west of the lodge the high alpine region of the Rockies begin. Generally we restrict day outings to the wilderness regions in the foothills more immediate to the lodge. Mountain expeditions are planned over the course of several nights since it usually takes at least a day to reach an Alpine camp and another to come out.

Even around the lodge Llamas are drawn to guests and attract an unusual amount of attention with their quirky curious behavior. They are very playful in rodeo events and seem to grasp the difference between work and play.
